— About
I first picked up a 35mm film camera during my childhood years at home. Since then, I have stuck to my film roots adding in medium format and Polaroid along the way. I took darkroom classes throughout several summers at day camp as a kid and continued into high school. Digital was introduced to me at this point in time, and I bought my first ever DSLR camera my senior year of high school.
Now, I am a passionate nightscape photographer working full time in New Jersey. Photography is not my day job, but rather I am an owner/operator in my family’s commercial plumbing contracting business. We have been family owned and operated for many years, with me being the fourth generation to enter the company.
I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Studio Art at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. School has taught me the conceptual aspects about photography and the arts as a whole. Harrisonburg and the John C. Wells Planetarium at JMU were also my initial inspiration to shoot Astrophotography to begin with.
Today, I frequently travel to the Adirondacks to experience some of the last known darkest skies on the East Coast USA. I feel at home in these mountains, and I am happy to continue my journey into landscape and nightscape photography as I venture forward into exploring the beauty of our planet.
