I first picked up a 35mm film camera during my childhood years at home. Since then, I have stuck to my film roots adding in medium format and Polaroid along the way. I took darkroom classes throughout several summers at day camp as a kid and continued into high school. Digital was introduced to me at this point in time, but I will still continue to shoot and develop film in the darkroom.
Now, I am a passionate photographer working full time in the New York City Area. Photography is not my day job, but rather I am fully employed in my father's commercial plumbing business. We have been family owned and operated for many years, with me being the fourth generation to enter the company.
I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Studio Art at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. School has taught me more than I can possibly imagine about photography and the arts as a whole. Harrisonburg and the John C. Wells Planetarium at JMU were also my initial inspiration to shoot Astrophotography to begin with.
I try to set myself away from the realm of "mainstream" photography by capturing images that define why photography intrigues me. My goal is to bring my passion to new heights, while combining where art meets technology. Because I prioritize this as a passion rather than a commercial source of income, I believe I can continue to produce content that goes far beyond the norm.
